MEET THE TEAM
Elaine Barr, RA | Founder + Principal
Elaine has nearly a decade of experience spanning both the architecture & construction management fields, working on a wide variety of project types including restaurants, commercial interiors, education, recreation as well as multifamily renovations. Her career has taken her from the architect’s side - producing initial designs through construction drawings - to the general contractor’s side, managing project execution. Having worn many hats, she brings a well-rounded perspective, balancing design intent, client budget, constructability, and project schedule.
Elaine received her Master's of Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Missouri (M-I-Z!) She is currently a licensed architect in the state of Illinois.
In her free time, Elaine loves to consume all types of music and enjoys dragging her husband to various concerts. To her, there is no higher form of flattery than being asked to create you a curated playlist. She also enjoys traveling, hiking & backcountry camping, as well as exploring a new found love/hate relationship with the game of golf.
Mug
Mug may not be the most knowledgeable about the built environment, but he does love to investigate that important thing you are working on and sleep, stomp, and/or chomp on it. He is also known to conduct creative writing exercises on unattended keyboards.
toast
Toast loves herself a good mid century chair.. or any cushioned surface really. Her napping skills rival those of a father "just resting his eyes" in a La-Z-Boy post Thanksgiving dinner. In the rare occasions she is up and about, Toast enjoys sitting riiight next to you. Surprisingly, she is quite the micromanager.
